Montgomery Hires First Head Coach from the AAL2

It is official: the Montgomery Catfish have hired Julius Gregory as their Head Coach for the 2027 season. Julius Gregory is a product of the AAL2 after serving as the Offensive Coordinator for the Carolina Predators in 2026. Gregory may be a fresh face in terms of coaching, but he is no stranger to the fifty-yard field.

The former wide receiver turned coach spent years running routes; now he will be focusing on designing them as the Head Coach of the Catfish. This move can serve as the first step to building a bridge for AAL2 coaches to cross when attempting to get their chance to coach at the professional level. It also shows the AAL2 is not just meant for developing players and can serve as a launching pad for everyone involved, whether it be players, coaches, or owners.
