The Wheeling Miners are proud to announce that we will be joining the AAL for the upcoming 2026 season!

This move marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our organization. Following the recent departure of several key players, as well as our General Manager and Head Coach, we are entering a rebuilding phase focused on re-establishing our identity both on and off the field.

The AAL is a competitive, professional league that allows us to remain true to the high standard our fans expect—while also creating more opportunities for growth with more home games, less travel, and a deeper connection to our local community.

We’re making this move not only to compete at a high level, but also to ensure the long-term success and sustainability of the Wheeling Miners—so we can continue to be a proud part of the Ohio Valley for many years to come.

This transition allows us to:

• Participate in more community events

• Continue and grow our youth flag football program in partnership with the Wheeling YMCA.

• Host more theme nights and promotions that bring fans closer to the action

This decision was made with our fans, partners, and entire Ohio Valley community in mind. You deserve the best product on the field and a team that reflects the pride and passion of this region.

While the offseason has officially begun, our commitment remains stronger than ever—to keep professional arena football alive and thriving in Wheeling and the Ohio Valley.
